China, at the forefront of political leadership in digital material The study highlights the importance of digitalization being a political priority, citing China as an example of success. Because? The Asian giant is leading research in artificial intelligence, a sector that is estimated to increase global GDP by 14% in 2030: while there are currently only 36 robots for every 10,000 employees in manufacturing in China, Beijing has marked itself as goal to increase the ratio to 100 in 2020. 3. Digitalization is undervalued in the political discourse of developed countries On the other hand, the report warns, developed countries do not give the digital economy the role it should have in political discourse: just look at the little relevance it had during the US presidential elections, which is ironic given the weight that email leaks, cyberespionage and social networks exerted on the final result.
